Grant passed will allow tornado victims to apply for funding

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE)- Lufkin City Council members unanimously voted to approve a program that will provide grant money to Lufkin tornado disaster victims.

The 500,000 dollar grant comes from the disaster related home investment partnership program. It will allow families with low to moderate income to apply for money to help repair or rebuild their homes. Applicants can receive up to 30,000 dollars for repairs and 80,000 for rebuilding.
