LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Local businessmen and women gathered for an update on the state of Angelina County and the City of Lufkin.
The mayor and county judge gave their opinions to a full house at the Crown Colony Country Club this afternoon. Subjects covered included: the economy, job loss, new medical facilities and going green.
"Hopefully we'll start to see some things changing and we'll start to see some things changing and get some people back to work," County Judge Wes Suiter said.
"What a great year Lufkin had and we're looking forward to even a better year," Mayor Jack Gorden said. "Basically I want to emphasize the quality of people that live here that makes it happen."
The focus of their state of the county/city addresses focused on coming back from the economic downturn as we progress through 2010.
