Three arrested and charged in year-old Trinity County case

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) – It's been more than a year since Trinity County Sheriff Brent Lee was killed in a car accident while responding to a 911 call. Investigators have now arrested three people they believe were involved in the shots-fired call Lee was rushing to.

Dalon Rains, Joey Grey, and Angela Fannin are now behind bars. All are charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Authorities are still searching for Cole Brown.

Also, one of the calls Sheriff Lee was responding to the morning of his death was the shooting of Trinity County dispatcher Chassin Bynum.

The Texas Rangers, Trinity County District Attorney's Office, and Trinity Police have all been investigating the incident for months.

KTRE will continue to follow this story as new developments occur.
