David Mark Temple seeks appeal of murder conviction

EAST TEXAS NOTE (KTRE) - David Mark Temple is seeking to get his 2007 murder conviction overturned.

Temple, a former high school coach and SFA football player, was found guilty of killing his pregnant wife, Belinda Temple, who was murdered almost 9 years before his conviction.

In January 1999, Belinda Temple, a Katy High School teacher and former Nacogdoches resident, was found shot in the head in her master bedroom closet.  Investigators believe her husband shot her in their Katy home.  At the time of the crime, he told authorities he found his wife's body that morning along with a broken window at their house.

KTRE's Donna McCollum will have an update on David Temple's appeal tonight on the East Texas News.
