By Morgan Thomas - bio | email

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) – The Lufkin Good Will will be providing a free tax service to all families who make less than 49 thousand a year.

The tax preparation will be completed by community volunteers beginning February second. The Good Will is also asking for anyone who would like to volunteer to come by and get trained. No special skills are needed and they will work around your schedule. Last year's tax prep put a lot of money back into the local economy.

"We served 215 clients last year. we filed 217 returns and we brought back $173,000 back into the community," said Lana Hines, Lufkin Good Will Finance Director.

The tax prep will last until April 15th. You can call for a list of dates and times that tax help will be available.
