FRISCO, Texas – Senior thrower Frednisha Marshall has been named Southland Conference Athlete of the Week following her performance at the LSU Purple Tiger Invitational. It marks the seventh-time in her career that she has received the honor.
A 2009 weight throw All-American, Marshall won the weight throw with an NCAA provisional qualifying mark of 63-11.00. Marshall is currently ranked 12th nationally in the event. She closed out the meet with a second-place finish in the shot put (46-11.00).
Marshall won three conference titles, and earned four all-conference honors during her junior season. She is the two-time defending SLC Female Indoor Outstanding Field Athlete who has won four conference titles, and earned seven All-SLC honors during her career. An academic all-conference selection, Marshall currently holds the school record in the weight and hammer throws.
