Rusk Co. deputies arrest two in connection with Center man's death

RUSK COUNTY, TX (PRESS RELEASE) - On January 29, at approximately 5:10pm, Rusk County Sheriff's Tactical Unit, assisted by Rusk County Sheriff Deputies, Texas Department of Public Safety, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Texas Rangers, along with the Rusk County District Attorney Investigator, executed hard entry search/arrest warrant.  The search warrant consisted of three residents located on Hwy 84 West, in Southwest Rusk County.  The result of the search warrant was the arrest of one suspect, being a black male, mid-twenties, who was booked into the Rusk County Jail.

At approximately 12:55am, on January 30, a second arrest warrant was executed in Rusk County on County Road 3231D, which resulted in the apprehension of suspect number 2, being a black male, mid-twenties.  The suspect was transported and booked in the Rusk County Jail.

Drake Dario Blanton, 23, and Jason Terell Hunt, 24, were arraigned Saturday morning and charged with capital murder. Bond for both was set at $1 million.

Sheriff Danny R. Pirtle stated that the investigation and apprehension of both Capital Murder suspects was the result of teamwork by all agencies involved. The suspects were apprehended without incident due to diligent planning and execution of all agencies combined.

The men are accused of killing Rigoberto Tovar Pina, 29, and Steve Abran Parra, 27, both of Center, on Monday.
