LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) – On Saturday afternoon on a brisk chilly day former Lufkin Panther pitcher Chase Greening was warming up in the bullpen for Angelina College and it appeared as though he was going to throw well enough to get his first win of the season.  That is exactly what happened for the former Panther who help lead Lufkin to the 5A state championship game last summer.

Greening now a freshman for the Roadrunners pitched a great game in game one, going seven strong innings, allowing four runs, but only two were earned.  He scattered four hits and struck out three and walked three to pick up his first collegiate victory 5-4.

The Roadrunners are 3-3 this season and will host Galveston on Wednesday afternoon at 3pm.  Angelina College will be on the road for the next week or so and return home Feb. 20th to host Temple at 2pm.
