
KERVILLE, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin men's golf team made an impressive comeback on the final day of the UTSA Oak Hill Invitational Tuesday afternoon in Kerrville. The 'Jacks posted a third round score of 292, advancing three places to finish seventh overall. The third-round score contributed to a final team score of 889 (300-297-292) for the tournament.
After shooting a 78 in the first round, sophomore Stetson McMillan posted a season best and team-low 70 in the third round of action to tie for 22nd overall. Junior Kyle Robins shot a 74 to finish the tournament with a 223 (73-76-74), which placed him tied for 28th overall. Robbins finished tied with freshman Mitchell McLeroy who carded a 73-73-77 – 223.
Senior Richard Wilkenfeld recorded the team's fourth-lowest score by shooting a 76-75-75 – 226. He was tied for 41st overall. Junior Michael Smith continued to improve as the tournament progressed posting individual round scores of 82-79-73 – 234.
The Lumberjacks will return to action Monday, Feb. 22 when they will compete in the J.L. Lewis Intercollegiate in Lost Pines, Texas.
