2/18/10 Lufkin Police Report

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) – Burglary/Building, 200 Block East Laurel Avenue: At approximately 4:00 A.M. on Thursday, February 18, 2010, Lufkin Police Department Officers responded to an active burglary alarm at a business located in the 200 block of East Laurel Avenue.  According to the report, the glass of an entry door for the building was broken and a computer monitor was stolen from inside of the business.

Burglary/Vehicle, 500 Block South John Redditt Drive: At approximately 12:00 A.M. on Thursday, February 18, 2010, two male suspects were detained during an investigation of a vehicle burglary that occurred in the parking lot of Woodland Heights Hospital.  According to the report, shortly before their detention the suspects were observed by witnesses in the parking lot and were confronted by the witnesses regarding being in possession of keys to one of the witnesses vehicles.  The report stated that the keys had been lost inside of the hospital and that the suspects fled the area on foot when confronted by the witnesses.  According to the report, another vehicle in the parking lot was burglarized and a car radio was removed from its dash, and information provided by the witnesses led Lufkin Police Department Officers to the suspects' residence.  The report stated that the investigation is ongoing.

Assault, 1500 Block Briarwood Drive: At approximately 3:00 P.M. on Wednesday, February 17, 2010, a female complainant reported that her boyfriend assaulted her while they were in the 1500 block of Briarwood Drive.  According to the report, a witness contacted Lufkin Police Department concerning an altercation between to complainant and suspect but the complainant and suspect were no longer on scene when Officers arrived.  The report stated that the Officers contacted the complainant at one location and the suspect at another location, and that each claimed that the other pushed or hit them but the Officers did not observe visible injuries to either person.

Disturbance/Domestic, 2100 Block South First Street: At approximately 12:00 P.M. on Wednesday, February 17, 2010, Lufkin Police Department Officers responded to a disturbance between two female subjects at a restaurant located in the 2100 block of South First Street.  According to the report, the witnesses stated that the complainant cursed at the suspect, her sister-in-law, and then the suspect used her fist to strike the complainant's nose.  The report stated that the responding Officers did not observe visible injuries to the complainant.
