UNDATED (KTRE) – Retired US Army general, former White House Chief of Staff, former Secretary of State, advisor to Presidents Richard Nixon, Ronald Reagan and Gerald Ford has died after being hospitalized in critical condition. Early reports from his family and news reports indicate he died from complications of infection.
Haig was a highly decorated war veteran who served in both the Korean War and Vietnam War. He was a recipient of the Distinguished Service Cross, Silver Star, oak leaf star, and Purple Heart.
He was instrumental in the Nixon/Ford White House transition after Watergate.
