LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Two Lufkin women were injured in a Tuesday morning wreck after a driver apparently ran a stop sign and ran them off the road, into a tree.

According to Lufkin Police Officer Jason Vance, Jeffrey Scott, of Lufkin, was driving his Jeep Cherokee on Grant Street and ran the stop sign at the Church Street intersection.

He hit a Chevy truck, driven by Olga Flores, 27, of Lufkin, forcing them into a tree.

Flores and her passenger, Estella Fierros, 47, of Lufkin, were transported to a Lufkin hospital with minor injuries.

Vance said Scott was cited for running the stop sign and for driving without a licence.
