ANGELINA COUNTY, TX (KTRE) – A Lufkin man died Sunday afternoon after the motorcycle he was test driving collided head-on with a SUV on Highway 7 near Lufkin. First responders arrived on scene around 4 p.m. Sunday.
According to DPS Trooper Clint Henderson, Wesley Hahs, 27, was traveling west on Highway 7 when he attempted to pass in a no-passing with low visibility. Henderson said that's when the motorcycle clipped the front, left side of the SUV. Hahs died on impact. He was not wearing a helmet.
The driver and passenger of the SUV were not injured. Henderson said speed does not appear to be a factor.
Both lanes of the highway were shut down for about two hours.
