LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) – One Lufkin church saw a need in the community and responded by filling it with six brand new computers.

Goodwill Missionary Baptist Church spent about $5,000 to create a free public computer lab.

The G3 Learning Institute offers help for students to improve their grades, adults search for jobs, or just learn the technology.

The computer lab is named for a man who said he wants to leave a positive mark on the community.

"I've been in the church all my life and I said before I leave here, I want to leave a legacy to let somebody know that I went this way," said church deacon Willie Culpepper.

To learn more about the free classes, call the church at 634-7832.  The lab is open Tuesday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
