LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) – To park on Lufkin High School's campus, you need a permit.  If you choose to park on campus without one - you may not be able to leave.

Schools officials have come up with a new way to increase safety by identifying all cars on campus. They bought a boot that will be placed on any cars that have multiple tickets or warnings for not having a permit.

According to Principal Mark Smith, the boot has been very successful at getting students to come in for a permit.

To receive a permit you must show proof of insurance, a driver's license and it costs ten bucks. A much better deal that paying fines.

Principal Smith says any funds collected through fines will first pay off the boot and then go to back into the school.
