Lufkin man indicted for possession of child porn

BEAUMONT, Texas (KTRE) — A federal grand jury has indicted a 59-year-old Lufkin man for possessing child pornography in the Eastern District of Texas.

Phillip Charles Taylor TAYLOR has been indicted and charged with receipt of materials involving child pornography and possession of child pornography.  If convicted, he faces up to 20 years in federal prison.  

This case is being investigated by the U.S. Secret Service and the Lufkin Police Department and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Christopher T. Tortorice.

This case is being prosecuted as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse. It was launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice. Project safe Childhood's purpose  is to better locate, apprehend and prosecute individuals who exploit children via the Internet, as well as to identify and rescue victims.
