NACOGDOCHES, CO (KTRE) - Two people have been taken to the hospital for minor injuries after a four-vehicle wreck on Hwy 259 near the Nacogdoches County line.
Andrea Randall of Douglass, 49, was driving a white Kia northbound on Hwy 259 when she slowed to turn left on 913. According to DPS troopers, SFA student Elenaor Lyon of Justin, 22, also driving northbound in a black Honda Civic was in the same lane and rear-ended the Kia. The Kia spun into the southbound lane and struck a cattle trailer traveling southbound, driven by Jason Fowler of Henderson, 37. An 18-wheeler also traveling southbound, driven by Neris Fuentes of Houston, 30 swerved to miss the wreck and overturned on its side.
Randall and Lyon were taken to Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital following the wreck with minor injuries. Law enforcement that responded to the scene said both women were complaining of whiplash.
According to a DPS report, Lyon, the driver of the Honda Civic, will be cited for failure to control speed.
DPS Troopers Keith Jones and John Riggins are investigating the wreck.
