LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Jury selection is scheduled to take place Monday for an Angelina County kidnapping trial.

This time the man going to trial is Stephen DeWayne Wallace, 32, of Lufkin, who is said to be a captain in the Aryan Brotherhood, a notorious prison gang. Christopher Guffey, who testimony revealed to be the lieutenant of the gang, was sentenced to life in prison last month for the same crime.

In a pre-trial hearing Tuesday, the state granted Wallace's attorney's request for criminal records for other suspects in the crime, as well as statements given by them, and access to physical evidence the sheriff's office has that the state may use in the trial.

J.R. Smith, a Center attorney, will represent Wallace in the trial.

Wallace was arrested in June 2009 after authorities say he forced his girlfriend into a car trunk and beat her on one occasion.

Wallace and five others, were charged with aggravated kidnapping.

KTRE has chosen to not reveal the name of the victim in order to protect her identity.
