New candidate enters Nacogdoches school board race

NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) – A well known Nacogdoches businessman and father of three has entered the race for Nacogdoches School Board.  Matt Rocco, CEO Etech, Inc, formally announced his intentions to run for the At-Large position.

As a top priority, Rocco said he is committed to giving a voice to the concerns of all of the taxpayers of the district. "Families are looking for a place where their voices, priorities and input can be heard and respected," Rocco said. "I want to facilitate that interaction and am committed to listening to the parents and community leader, as well as teachers."

Following Rocco's announcement, the second man on the ballot, James Proctor, said he would be withdrawing and will endorse Rocco.

The school board election is May 8, early voting is April 26 to May 4.
