3/24/10 Lufkin Police report

Burglary/Habitation                       300 Block Cordelia Street

Between the hours of 7:30 A.M. and 3:50 P.M. on Tuesday, March 23, 2010, an unidentified actor(s) burglarized a residence located in the 300 block of Cordelia Street.  According to the report, the actor(s) forced entry into the residence by breaking a window and a laptop computer and portable DVD player were among the items removed from the residence.  The report stated that the incident was referred for further investigation.

 

Burglary/Habitation                       1200 Block East Denman Avenue

Between the hours of 7:00 A.M. and 3:00 P.M. on Tuesday, March 23, 2010, an unidentified actor(s) burglarized a residence, an apartment, located in the 1200 block of East Denman Avenue.  According to the report, the actor(s) forced entry into the residence by damaging the front entry door and removed from the residence a laptop computer.  The report stated that the complainant identified her ex-boyfriend as a likely suspect and that the incident was referred for further investigation.

 

Theft/Felony     300 Block South Chestnut Drive

On Tuesday, March 23, 2010, management of a business located in the 300 block of South Chestnut Drive reported to Lufkin Police Department their discovery that on March 11, 2010 a former employee stole the business' bank deposit.  According to the report, the business' security video camera system captured the suspect's actions as she concealed the money in her pocket and later placed the money into her wallet.  The report stated that prior to the business discovering the incident the suspect ended her employment with the business and that the incident was referred for further investigation.

 

Burglary/Habitation                       2700 Block Paul Avenue

Between the hours of 7:00 A.M. and 2:45 P.M. on Tuesday, March 23, 2010, an unidentified actor(s) burglarized a residence located in the 2700 block of Paul Avenue.  According to the report, the actor(s) forced entry into the residence by damaging a rear entry door and a laptop computer, boxes of ammunition, and a Temple-Inland 25th Anniversary watch were among the items removed from the residence.  The report stated that the incident was referred for further investigation.

 

Criminal Mischief                            2320 East Lufkin Avenue

On Tuesday, March 23, 2010, a complainant reported to Lufkin Police Department that on February 13, 2010 a known suspect damaged the complainant's vehicle.  The report stated that the complainant confronted the suspect shortly after the suspect scratched the vehicle's paint and that the suspect agreed to make payment for the damage caused but, as of the date of the report, the suspect had not made payment and the complainant wished to pursue a charge of Criminal Mischief against the suspect.  The report stated that the incident was referred for further investigation.

 

Burglary/Vehicle                             1100 Block California Boulevard

Between the hours of 10:30 P.M. on Monday, March 22, 2010 and 6:00 A.M. on Tuesday, March 23, 2010, an unidentified actor(s) burglarized two vehicles parked in the 1100 block of California Boulevard.  According to the report, the actor(s) entered the unlocked vehicles and removed car radios from the vehicles' dashes.  The report stated that the incident was referred for further investigation.

 

Assault/C            4600 Block South Medford Drive

On Tuesday, March 23, 2010, a complainant reported to Lufkin Police Department that on March 12, 2010 a known suspect assaulted him at a restaurant located in the 4600 block of South Medford Drive.  According to the report, the complainant, an employee of the restaurant, stated that his supervisor at the restaurant spit on him while "verbally degrading" him but, at the time of the incident, the complainant did not wish to file a charge of assault against the suspect because he did not want to lose his job.  The report stated that the complainant now wishes to pursue the assault charge and that the incident was referred for further investigation.

 

Fraud                    800 Block South John Redditt Drive

Between March 1, 2010 and March 23, 2010, an unidentified actor(s) passed fraudulent checks on a complainant's bank account.  According to the report, the actor(s) passed three checks, totaling approximately $100, without the complainant's authorization and the checks passed contained the complainant's bank account number and information but the identifying information of a subject unknown to the complainant.  The report stated that the incident was referred for further investigation.

 

Theft/B                400 Block Brown Road

On Tuesday, March 23, 2010, a complainant reported to Lufkin Police Department that a known suspect paid him for past due rent by issuing a check written on a closed bank account.  The report stated that the incident was referred for further investigation.

 

Theft/B                2800 Block Daniel McCall Drive

Between the hours of 10:30 P.M. and 11:45 P.M. on Friday, March 19, 2010, a known suspect reportedly stole a complainant's wallet from a residence located in the 2800 block of Daniel McCall Drive.  According to the report, the complainant believes that the suspect, a friend, took her wallet from her purse before hurriedly leaving the residence.  The report stated the wallet contained the complainant's credit cards, driver's license, Social Security card, and U.S. Passport and that the incident was referred for further investigation.

 

Criminal Mischief                            100 Block Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard

Between the hours of 9:00 P.M. on Monday, March 22, 2010 and 7:00 A.M. on Tuesday, March 23, 2010, an unidentified actor(s) damaged a vehicle parked in the 100 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.  According to the report, the actor(s) used a bottle to break the vehicle's rear window.  The report stated that the incident was referred for further investigation.
