Nacogdoches man dies in two-vehicle wreck

BEAUMONT, TX (News Release) - NACOGDOCHES, TX (PRESS RELEASE) - The Nacogdoches Police Department is investigating a major automobile crash at the intersection of East Main Street (SH 7 East) and Greer Street.

The call came into the NPD 911 call center at 3:47 p.m.

Preliminary investigation has revealed that a 1995 Oldsmobile Cutlass, driven by Charles Shepherd, age 54 of Nacogdoches was westbound in the 1800 block of East Main Street and turned left onto Greer Street into the path of a 1997 Ford Explorer, driven by Danielle McFarland, age 34 of Nacogdoches.

A passenger in the Oldsmobile, Lonnie J. Nobles, age 64 of Nacogdoches, was pronounced dead shortly after arrival at Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital.

Both drivers and a passenger in the Ford Explorer, Sadie Gray, age 80, of Nacogdoches were transported to the hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
