This year marks the 100th anniversary of the Boy Scouts of America. Johnny Sproles of Henderson understands more than most that the scout Motto "Always Be Prepared" can mean the difference between life and death.

it was on December 31,1953 during a duck hunt, that eighteen year old Sproles saved two men from drowning. For his bravery, he was awarded the Boy Scouts Medal Of Honor".

Sproles says it was what he learned in scouting that enabled him to save the men's lives and feels that scouting has influenced every phase of his life as well.
