Forest Service: pollen season is almost over

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) -

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Your car, your porch, your pets. They're probably all covered in pollen right now.

Many East Texans say it's the worst they've ever seen it.

But the Texas Forest Service says this is normal and happens every springtime.

Try telling that to a guy that's exposed to pollen all day. Plus, he's allergic.

He says he's never seen it this bad.

"I take two kinds of medicine, but since I'm exposed every day it doesn't seem to do anything about it," said Pilo Quiroz, who works at a Lufkin car wash. "And sometimes i have to deal with the stress of working and my own allergies and sometimes it's too much."

He says the car wash has been slammed with customers, but a good car wax should keep pollen off your car.

The good news is the Texas Forest Service says we're at the tail end of pollen season.
