AUSTIN, TX (KTRE) - AUSTIN, Texas (AP) - Texans who could not get through online or via phone lines for an overwhelmed appliance rebate program can still be heard.
The Texas comptroller's office, on its Web site Friday, provided a way for consumers to respond to the program involving more than $20 million in federal stimulus funds.
The Web site says: "All rebate and waitlist reservations have been filled. Thank you for your patience and interest in the Texas Trade Up program. We experienced an unprecedented response. We know many people had trouble getting through. You can provide comments here."
The state agency is investigating what went wrong Wednesday. Comptroller Susan Combs is seeking answers from the contractor, Helgeson Enterprises Inc. of White Bear Lake, Minn.
A Helgeson company representative did not immediately return a call Friday from The Associated Press.
