Nacogdoches police officer uncovers drug paraphernalia during traffic stop

NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE)- According to the Nacogdoches police department, an officer found drug paraphernalia when he stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation, and began searching it, Friday morning.

The officer located a bottle of PCP in the trunk along with several pills of ecstasy. 

The driver, Rodney Clemons, 30, of Houston was arrested on two separate counts of possession of a controlled substance.  Both are felony charges and his total bond is set at $35,000. He remains in the Nacogdoches County Jail.

The passenger, John Clemons, 32, of Houston, was arrested and charged for public intoxication, a misdemeanor offense. Clemons' bond was set at $500. He bonded out Saturday.

During the arrest, two officers were exposed to an unknown substance from the trunk.  The officers were treated and released Friday from a Nacogdoches Hospital.
