LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) – Angelina County Commissioners are set to address the concerns of Lufkin residents worried over emergency services.

Tuesday morning, commissioners will learn more about the city's private E.M.S. agreement and ordinance.

City Manager Paul Parker, who will speak at the meeting, says there is an agreement with Ameri-Care E.M.S. services to handle all ambulance transport calls for the city and county.

This leaves all emergencies to the city's ambulances.

Parker says they only allow one private service as a trade-off for the company promising to transport everyone...including non-paying clients.
