Angelina County boys gear up for KTRE River Rivalry

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) – With a little more than a week to go, the countdown to the KTRE River Rivalry continues.

The Hudson High School gym was the scene of the Angelina County boys practice Tuesday afternoon.  The Hornets head coach Rob Peterson leads the Angelina County boys. The team is excited about the upcoming match-up.

"It's a good opportunity to play with these guys that I've been playing ball against my whole life," said Huntington H.S. senior, Garret Nerren.

"I'm going to treat it like a rival game and go out there and beat them. It's like another game to me,"  said Antonio Johnson, Diboll H.S. Senior.

"I really want to win. I think it'll be fun to be on the second annual thing. Just get to know people," said Central H.S. Senior, Chris Champion.

"We'll play hard against them because they're going to play hard against us," said Christian Lovelady, senior from Diboll H.S.
