Lufkin man gets 16 years in shooting

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) -

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - A Lufkin man pleaded guilty to shooting another man and agreed to a 16-year-prison sentence in district court Thursday morning.

According to a previous report, Andrew Lamont Jones, 29, shot the man in Dec. 2007, on the 900 block of Weaver Street.

Jones pleaded guilty to aggravated assault and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and received 16- and two-year sentences, which he will serve concurrently.
