Lufkin woman flown to hospital following wreck on Chestnut Street

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Emergency responders had a helicopter take a woman to a Tyler hospital following a two-vehicle wreck on a Lufkin intersection.

According to a police report, Jakitha Oliphant, 29, of Lufkin, pulled her Pontiac Grand Prix from Harmony Hill Drive onto South Chestnut Street into the path of Christian Bond, 20, of Lufkin, who was driving a Dodge Ram pickup.

Bond hit Oliphant's car at the driver's door. Officers at the scene said Oliphant was bleeding from her head. She is listed in fair condition.
