LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - A Pollok man who exposed himself at least nine times to children pleaded guilty Tuesday and was sentenced to concurrent prison sentences totaling 30 years.

Brian Scott Johnson, 43, pleaded guilty to seven counts of indecency with a child and two counts of improper photography or visual recording.

Victims' families says moving forward is a constant struggle.

"There is no end to the sentence. I mean I think he ought to be for lack of a better word, castrated. I mean he couldn't do it again," said one victim's grandmother.

Johnson will serve 10 years on the first five counts, concurrent with two years on two other counts. After he serves those sentences, he will serve a 10-year sentence on one of the improper photography charges and another 10-year sentence on the other count of the same charge.

That's not enough time for the family, but they say it offers some relief.

"My grandson was very worried about getting up in court. He was going to do it, but was very worried about seeing him."

According to previous reports, a man caught Johnson masturbating in a parking lot of Morris Frank Park, while watching children play on a playground, in March 2009.

"I approached his vehicle, tried to open the driver's side door," Mike Lovelace explained in an interview. "It was locked. The window was rolled up. I beat on his window. You know at that time, he put his vehicle in reverse and started backing up and when he did, I noticed the driver's side window was down.  I ran around to the driver's side and tried to get in the car to grab his keys, I couldn't get his keys.  At this point, he was past reverse and fixing to go forward.  So he did, and he exited the ballpark pretty quick, you know he was gone.  I went and dialed 911."

Lovelace was able to identify Johnson and police arrested him at his home.

Upon his arrest, Johnson was carrying a video camera which contained footage of him exposing himself to children five different times in the Lufkin Wal-Mart in Dec. 2008, along with footage of him placing the camera under the dress of a nine-year-old girl at a Lufkin Dollar General Store and under the dress of another young girl at Insta-Cash and Pawn.

In Aug. 2009, he was charged with exposing himself to a young boy and young girl at a Lufkin Family Dollar Store in Sept. 2008.

Johnson was later indicted on other counts, including when he looked under skirts of young girls in a dollar store.

"You're in a small store like Family Dollar and they're one isle over. I mean, that is really pretty sad and pretty brazen," said the victim's grandmother. She said her grandson was just one isle away from her, for two minutes, when Johnson exposed himself to him.

"They want to go look at a toy on the isle or find something they want. And they could even walk just like a shopping cart away and that's all it takes," said the now 10-year-old boy's, mother.

Some are not ready to forgive, but their faith provides the only option.

"Do I forgive him? No. But eventually yes because I am a Christian," said the boy's grandmother.

"He told me that mommy I just don't think the man's getting enough time for what he did," said his mother.

Healing takes time, but this family says it will be easier because Brian Johnson is in jail.
