Off-road patriot combines love for motor sports with passion to honor soldiers

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) –One East Texas custom shop is combining their love of off-road adventures, with honoring our troops.

Dynamic Customs of Lufkin, is showing off their creation-- "the ultimate patriotic ride".

From afar, the "Dynamix Tribute Chassis" looks like a lot of fun.

Take a closer look and you'll find much more than an adrenaline fix.

"This project is for you guys, for the military, all branches," said owner of Dynamic Customs, Cody Consford, who built the buggy in honor of our troops.

"Ninety-five percent of this project we completely designed ourselves, from the ground up."

It's made for rock crawling, a motor sport.

"Hill climbs and going over big obstacles, a lot of it's slow and controlled," said Consford.

It's designed to pay tribute to those who put their lives on the line-- namely injured veterans.

"It's a way for us to show, our respect. It's only through the grace of God and our soldiers that we're able to put together something like this."

Consford will debut the buggy at the "Wheelers for the Wounded" in San Antonio, Saturday May 1st, giving more than 250 soldiers from around East Texas, Fort Hood and beyond, the chance to hop aboard.

"Deeds not words, really is more fitting in my lifestyle to really show the troops how much I really care."

Consford plans to have soldiers autograph it themselves.

"Maybe that'd be the best way for me to show them, to let them actually sign it, to let them know that I care about, their thoughts and what's really important to them."

Consford is planning more projects to raise money for the "Wounded Warrior project", as well as making appearances at events with his patriotic creation.
