4/28 Lufkin Police report

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) -

Burglary/Vehicle - 1700 Block West Frank Avenue: A complainant reported to Lufkin Police Department that between the hours of 4:00 P.M. on Tuesday, April 27, 2010 and 2:45 A.M. on Wednesday, April 28, 2010, an unidentified actor(s) burglarized her vehicle while the vehicle was parked in the 1700 block of West Frank Avenue.  According to the report, the complainant stated that the actor(s) forced entry into the vehicle by breaking a window and removed from the vehicle a camera, music CDs and a purse containing her driver's license and credit card.  The report stated that the incident was referred for further investigation.

Burglary/Vehicle - 300 Block Ellen Trout Drive: A complainant reported to Lufkin Police Department that between the hours of 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, April 27, 2010 and 1:00 A.M. on Wednesday, April 28, 2010, an unidentified actor(s) burglarized his vehicle while the vehicle was parked in the 300 block of Ellen Trout Drive.  According to the report, the complainant stated that the actor(s) entered the unlocked vehicle and removed from the vehicle a car radio.  The report stated that the incident was referred for further investigation.

Criminal Mischief - 1700 Block West Frank Avenue: A complainant reported to Lufkin Police Department that between the hours of 3:45 P.M. and 10:30 P.M. on Tuesday, April 27, 2010, an unidentified actor(s) damaged a vehicle while the vehicle was parked in the 1700 block of West Frank Avenue.  According to the report, complainant stated that the actor(s) attempted to force entry into the vehicle and in doing so damaged one of the vehicle's doors.  The report stated that the incident was referred for further investigation.

Burglary/Vehicle - 1300 Block South First Street: A complainant reported to Lufkin Police Department that between the hours of 12:30 P.M. and 5:00 P.M. on Tuesday, April 27, 2010, an unidentified actor(s) burglarized a vehicle while the vehicle was parked in the 1300 block of South First Street.  According to the report, the complainant stated that the actor(s) forced entry into the vehicle and removed from the vehicle a GPS unit and car radio.  The report stated that the incident was referred for further investigation.

Burglary/Habitation - 200 Block South Bynum Avenue: A complainant reported to Lufkin Police Department that between the hours of 3:40 P.M. and 4:15 P.M. on Tuesday, April 27, 2010, an unidentified actor(s) burglarized her residence located in the 200 block of South Bynum Avenue.  According to the report, the complainant stated that the actor(s) forced entry into the residence by damaging a rear entry door to the residence and removed from the residence a laptop computer, a video gaming system, and currency.  The report stated that the incident was referred for further investigation.

Burglary/Building - 1900 Block South First Street: A complainant reported to Lufkin Police Department that at approximately 4:00 A.M. on Tuesday, April 27, 2010, an unidentified actor(s) burglarized a business located in the 1900 block of South First Street.  According to the report, the business' security video camera system captured the actors of a black, male suspect as he forced entry into the business by damaging a window and removed from the business several packages of cigarettes and a Relay for Life donation jar containing an undetermined amount of currency.  The report stated that the incident was referred for further investigation.

    James Henderson's defense attorney, Stanley Sokolowski, started off the third day of court by questioning the state's witness, Investigator Bill Rulland. The cross examination lasted most of the morning and even a little into the afternoon. According to Investigator Michael Molnes, with the Houston County Sheriff's Office, Sokolowski attempted to discredit Brenna Theuer's witness testimony, as well as testimony from Robert Mobley.  The trial is expected to head into closing arg...More >>

    More than a few tar-covered tires are hanging on to the parking lot of a Lufkin tire shop.  On August 31, newly laid asphalt on Loop 287 started sticking to tires of those driving, leaving many of the cars un-driveable. As of Friday, the Texas Department of Transportation hadn't come out with an official cause for the incident, but that hasn't stopped over 600 people from filing claims with them.     Deputies with the Trinity County Sheriff’s Office made two felony drug arrests and seized marijuana, Prometh VC with codeine, hydrocodone, Alprazolam, and ecstasy after a traffic stop near the intersection of Robb and Jefferson streets late Tuesday night.
