NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) - A Martinsville 11-year-old girl has won a state competition Friday for her art in the Arbor Day competition.

Brianna Fawvor won the state competition for the official Arbor Day poster competition. Her art work is being used around the state to promote the importance of trees to our communities, and to add to that honor, a whole lot of other prizes.

"I received a backpack filled with a whole bunch of stuff. I received a shirt with my poster on it. And I got a $500 savings bond, a certificate and a $50 gift card," said Fawvor.

She also won a scholarship for the SFA summer art camp. The aspiring artists poster has now moved on to a national level competition.
