Incumbent NISD board member unseated; runoff in Lufkin city council race

UNDATED (KTRE) - An incumbent Nacogdoches ISD trustee was unseated Saturday night in local city and school board elections.

Matt Rocco received 878 votes, enough to beat incumbent board member Tom Davis, who received 578 votes. James S. Proctor had 13 votes.

Almarie Henderson won the election for the other NISD school board spot, with her 114 votes enough to beat Hollis James Jr.'s 63.

Incumbent Lufkin school board member R.L. Kuykendall will enter a runoff race against Victor L. Travis. Travis had 69 votes, Kuykendall had 58, Guessippina Bonner had 54 and Linda Pendland had 20.
