Amber Low is an 18-year-old senior at Alto High School. She is the Valedictorian of her class and will graduate with 19 college hours. She is the daughter of Randy and Paula Low of Alto, and she has a twin brother, Aaron, and a 13-year-old brother, Lance. Amber is a 3-year varsity cheerleader and was an All-American Nominee. She has also served as an officer of the Student Council, National Honor Society, and the Senior Class. She participated in One-Act play, earning All-Star Cast honors her sophomore and junior year. Amber also participated in Academic UIL all four years, and advanced to Regional competition in News writing and Prose Interpretation.
She is a Hugh O’Brien Youth Leadership Ambassador and was recognized on Channel 9 as a KTRE High School Hero. Amber is the secretary of Alto FFA, and is very active on the show team. She won first place at the Forth Worth Livestock Show and second place at the Houston Livestock Show this year with her beefmaster heifer. She also won the Mike Kyle Swine Showmanship Award two years in a row.
Amber is also a member of the A. Frank Smith United Methodist Church and is active in the Methodist Youth Fellowship. She attended a weeklong mission trip to Anadarko, Oklahoma last summer, and will be traveling to Bellevue, Colorado for another mission this summer. Amber will be attending Texas A&M University in the fall and majoring in General Studies.
