ANGELINA COUNTY, TX (KTRE) – It's a chance to learn from mistakes, and make positive life changes.

Wednesday evening, three people graduated from the year long family court program.

They all face misdemeanor charges for some type of family violence.

But upon graduation, they walk away changed individuals, taking away with them skills and lessons that will last a lifetime.

"When you get in a situation you know, stop think and don't react right when the situation pops up and I think you know that would help out a lot of people, especially in my situation," said graduate Peggy Baker.

These graduates will now have their charges removed, and will continue to follow up with the court to check their progress.

Graduates say the program, which is just more than a year old, has helped encourage life-long change.
