LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Lufkin Police say someone tried to burglarize El Chico restaurant by putting a hole in the wall. However, a security alarm may have scared them away.
According to the report, the alarm sounded at 1:45 a.m. Thursday.
Spokesman J.B. Smith said the hole was created on a sheetrock wall between the restaurant and an exterior utility closet. The utility closet was not secured because it did not hold any valuables.
Smith said the person moved some items in the restaurant, so police may be able to find fingerprints.
No property was reported stolen. Police are investigating the case.
