LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - A Lufkin man pleaded guilty Thursday to soliciting sex online with who he thought was a 13-year-old girl.

But Rodney Keels, 57, of Lufkin, was actually chatting online with an undercover agent.

As part of the plea bargain, Keels agreed to serve 180 days in jail and 10 years of probation.

Among the conditions of the probation, Keels is also ordered to register as a sex offender, complete an alcohol abuse program. He is also banned from using the Internet.

Keels was charged in November with online solicitation of a minor after a long investigation by the police, during which an agent posed as a 13-year-old girl online.
