5/21/10 Lufkin Police report

Terroristic Threat - 700 Block Culverhouse Street: On Thursday, May 20, 2020, a complainant reported to Lufkin Police Department that a known suspect threatened the complainant during a telephone conversation.  According to the report, the complainant stated that the suspect or someone connected to the suspect also placed a dead rat outside of the complainant's residence.  The report stated that the incident was referred for further investigation.

Theft - 700 Block Southwood Drive: A complainant reported to Lufkin Police Department that at approximately 8:30 P.M. on Thursday, May 20, 2010, known suspect stole merchandise from a business located in the 700 block of Southwood Drive.  According to the report, the suspect, who the complainant recognized, removed a thirty-count package of beer from the store without making payment.  The report stated that the responding Lufkin Police Department Officers were not able to locate the suspect and that the incident was referred for further investigation.

Theft - 400 Block South Chestnut Street: A complainant reported to Lufkin Police Department that at approximately 5:30 P.M. on Thursday, May 20, 2010, three unidentified suspects stole merchandise and personal property from a business located in the 400 block of South Chestnut Street.  According to the report, the suspects removed a swimsuit, three pairs of shoes, and the complainant's mobile telephone from the store without making payment.  The report stated that the responding Lufkin Police Department Officers were not able to locate the suspects and that the incident was referred for further investigation.

Terroristic Threat - 1700 Block West Frank Avenue: On Thursday, May 20, 2020, a complainant reported to Lufkin Police Department that a known suspect threatened the complainant outside of their place of employment, located in the 1700 block of West Frank Avenue.  According to the report, the complainant stated to responding the Lufkin Police Department Officer that the suspect pointed at the complainant with a box cutter and stated "I cut boxes too" but the suspect and a witness, a security guard for the business, stated to the officer that the suspect said nothing to the complainant.  The report stated that the incident was referred for further investigation.

Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle - 400 Block Bob Street: A complainant reported to Lufkin Police Department that at approximately 2:00 A.M. on Thursday, May 20, 2010, a vehicle belonging to a business was stolen from outside an employee's residence, located in the 400 block of Bob Street.  According to the report, the complainant stated that the vehicle's keys were still in the possession of the business.  The report stated that the incident was referred for further investigation.

Burglary/Vehicle - 800 Block North Timberland Drive: On Thursday, May 20, 2020, a complainant reported to Lufkin Police Department that at approximately 11:00 A.M. that date an unidentified actor(s) burglarized a delivery vehicle while the vehicle was parked outside of a business located in the 800 block of North Timberland Drive.  According to the report, the complainant stated that actor(s) entered the unlocked delivery vehicle and removed from it a thirty-count package of beer.  The report stated that the incident was referred for further investigation.

    During a Monday night special meeting, Nacogdoches Independent School District named Sandra Dowdy the lone finalist for the superintendent position. Dowdy has served as interim for the last several months. Per a press release from NISD, Dowdy was selected from a field of 45 applicants. A state mandated 21-day period must pass between the board naming her as the lone finalist and formally naming her as the next superintendent of Nacogdoches schools.
