NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) – Animal lovers of all sorts came out to the Nacogdoches Exposition Center, to help raise money for a good cause.

The fun included a children's carnival, pony rides, agility demonstrations, and a petting zoo.

Families came to see all kinds of animals, including Ziggy the llama.

"He's just a special boy, he goes with us everywhere, and he's sort of people friendly," said Patricia Bauer.

All of the proceeds will go to the Nacogdoches Animal Services to purchase vaccines and provide medical care for the sick and injured pets.

This the first year they've held a Pet Expo.

The Community Food Drive in Lufkin is special to some because of the large amount of people it brings together from all walks of life.  "It's just like so many different people, very diverse," said volunteer, Priscilla Gonzalez. "It's just kind of cool to see all these people coming together to do one thing."
