Cross Country         1 year         Number 1 runner on team

Running is a mental and physical sport.  It takes much dedication and commitment to become a competitive runner.  By running cross-country and track, I have learned to set my goals high. Some things in life may seem out of my grasp, but if I strive to work hard, nothing is impossible.  Running has given me the willpower to push myself beyond what I am capable of.  In every race I run, my goal is to beat my previous time.  This builds my confidence and enables me to always do my best.    Running is a metaphor for life: “You get as much out of it as you put in.”  If a person does not work for anything, they will not achieve their dreams and goals.  By participating in a competitive sport such as running, it is preparing me for the struggles and triumphs life holds.
