CENTER, TX (KTRE) - Center Police have issued a warrant on a counterfeiting charge for a man who they say counterfeited Lowe's payroll checks.

Det. Joey Haley said Segile Allen Cunningham, 49, of Nacogdoches, counterfeited a stolen check and cashed five of them for nearly $4,000 at Johnny's Liquor Store, at 513 Cora Street.

"If they just feel strange about it, they are getting warning signs just like this lady I talked to cashed this check, she said the hair on the back of her neck stood up because this guy was just looking around, giving her all the warning signs. She probably shouldn't have cashed it," said Haley.

Haley said an unknown second person is thought to have taken part in the scam. He also said warrants have been issued for Cunningham's arrest in Angelina and Nacogdoches County.
