LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) – Four children survived a wreck Thursday morning, thanks to being properly restrained, according to Lufkin Police.

A 2009, white Ford van carrying the four kids hit the back of a black Ford F-150 hard at the intersection of Pershing and Loop 287. Leigh Ciber, 29, was at the wheel.

According to Lufkin Police Officer Toby Stanaland, the accident occurred Thursday morning when theCiber became distracted and did not see the truck stop for a red light at the intersection.

The driver of the truck, Noah Dixon, 25, was transported by EMS for possible injuries.  Stanaland says proper child restraints for all four children in the van is the sole reason no children were hurt during the accident.

Ciber was cited for failure to control speed and the Dixon was cited for driving with an invalid license.
