LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Memorial Day weekend has historically shown that drivers make tragically bad decisions.
According to DPS Trooper Greg Sanchez, folks go out, drink too much and then decide to get behind the wheel of a car.
To keep dangerous drivers off the road, Angelina County and Polk County will be under a "No Refusal Weekend" through Monday night.
"Anybody stopped for DWI who refuses to give breath for blood sample -- we'll have a judge on standby and we'll get a search warrant for their blood," Sanches said.
Law enforcement will also be on the look-out for seat-belts.
Adults in both the front and back seat must wear a seat-belt or face fines around $150.
Children who aren't in proper car seats or booster seats could also be ticketed.
