LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - A Lufkin man and Lufkin woman are being treated for non-incapacitating injuries after the woman sideswiped the man's car Thursday morning.

Lufkin Police Officer Eddie Ibarra said Margaret Mearle Cooper, 76, was stopped at a stop sign on Everitt Street. Eric Rashund Johnson, 20, was driving westbound on Atkinson Drive behind another vehicle. The other vehicle made a right turn onto Everitt Street and Johnson attempted to continue going straight when Cooper pulled into the lane and sideswiped him.

Both were taken by ambulance to a Lufkin hospital.

Ibarra said Cooper will be cited for failure to yield right-of-way at a stop sign.
