Third Annual Rex Hadnot Camp June 26th

Former Lufkin High School offensive lineman, Rex Hadnot is hosting his THIRD ANNUAL FREE Football Camp.  The date for the camp is June 26, 2010.  Location is Lufkin High School Soccer Field (Rain or Shine).   The registration deadline is June 24th.  Early registration forms can be found at Academy Sports, 2912 Brentwood Drive, Lufkin, TX.  The camp once again will be organized by Coach Tommy Earley from Lufkin High School.  For more information please contact him at: (936) 630-4124.

The youngest group, 7-12, will check in at 8:25 AM along with 13-18 year old group at the soccer field.  Both camps will run simultaneously from 9:00 AM till Noon.    Once again there will be camp shirts, plenty of water, free lunch and special gifts for camper who attend.  This year "Joshua's Wishing Well Foundation", founded by Rex Hadnot in memory of his brother, who died of heart complications as a child, is offering lunch to adults-$5 and child-$3 (who have not attended the camp) with all proceeds going to the foundation.

Rex Hadnot's sports camp was extremely successful last year.  With a group of 400+ campers, Hadnot was thrilled with the turnout.  "Every year is a new learning experience for me.  I just love being around the kids.  I have been blessed in so many ways; I feel coming back to Lufkin and spending time here is just the right thing to do.  I want to thank those sponsors who help make this possible.  Without the effort of this community we could not do what we have set out to do; and that is to encourage kids to do the best they can not only in sports, but in life".

"There is a very special event planned the evening before the 2010 Camp.  Rex will be at the Academy Sports + Outdoors store in Lufkin on June 25th from 5:30-7:00 PM.  It's Academy Night" stated Jan Loman with MVP Sports Publicity.  "We will be drawing for bikes, gift cards, and other items, but you must be present to win.  The first bike to be given away will be aired live on KTRE, with Nick James.  You will have the opportunity to meet Rex and some special guests."

In 1998 Rex was named the best high school offensive lineman in District 12-5A.  He was also named to the Second-Team All-District squad as a junior and First-Team All District 12-5A in his senior year.
