CENTER, TX (KTRE) - A Shelby County Grand Jury has indicted a former Shelby County deputy and his wife, charging them in the death of the former deputy's mentally disabled brother.

The capital murder indictments for Rex and Lana Sue Calhoun were handed down at 12:05 a.m. Friday, according to Kevin Windham with the district attorney's office.

Windham said it was a long two days, but he is very pleased with the indictments.

The grand jury also handed down an indictment for Roger Dale Clifton, Jr., 30, of Joaquin, on a capital murder charge, in the death of Bobbi Lynn Carlton, 57, of Timpson. Clifton is accused of shooting Carlton at the Lil' Goat's Liquor Store near Garrison, on Jan. 27.
