GROVETON, TX (KTRE) - A Trinity County Grand Jury has indicted a Groveton man for engaging in organized criminal activity.

Robert Moody, 78, was arrested in April for allegedly operating an illegal gambling room in Trinity County.

Authorities say they were tipped off about a gaming house that was paying out in cash, which is illegal. Deputies searched the building and confiscated 31 eight-liners, nearly $2,000 in cash and a pistol. If convicted of this felony, Moody could face up to two years in state jail.

Moody was originally charged with the misdemeanor crime of keeping a gambling place.
