NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) – They're entertaining audiences with fancy footwork.

The "Rhythm Rocker Cloggers" say they dance to build endurance, and get a great workout, and of course to have a lot of fun.

Cynthia Capps, clogger, says one thing setting them apart is, "our age, we're not all kids."

The dancers share a unique bond found only on this dance floor.

"We're all like a bunch of sisters," said director of the performance group, Rita Muckleroy.

"It's a family type feeling," said Capps.

With fast, clean footwork, they make the dance look simple.

"It looks easy but it is not, and it's really good for your memory," said Sammie Holmes, who has been clogging for eight years.

"I have much more stamina there's no doubt about it," said Capps.

All of this hard work has paid off.

"We got picked as the most entertaining group in Waco at the big rally they have once a year so we got invited to dance on the River Walk in San Antonio this year. We had so much fun doing that," said Muckleroy. "We just dance all over the East Texas area and then when we're not dancing we go to the nursing home to perform for all of them."

They look forward to every opportunity to entertain others.

"We have a good time together and it's always fun to see our audience have a good time," said Holmes.

It's a goal they carry with them, as they bring smiles to faces young and old.

You can check out the Rhythm Rocker Cloggers in action as they perform at the Nacogdoches Blueberry Festival this Saturday, at around 9 a.m.

The cloggers also offer lessons Monday and Thursday evenings, for beginners and intermediate students.

They say it's perfect for anyone wanting a great work out and to meet new people.

For more information on lessons, you can contact the Nacogdoches Recreation Center.
