NACOGDOCHES, Texas - Junior left-hander Tyler Herriage has been named to the 2010 South Central All-Region second team as announced by the American Baseball Coaches Association on Monday.
Herriage is one of seven Southland Conference players named to the team, including one of four league pitchers. He is also the first Lumberjack named to the team since Steven Hill was named to the all-region first team and eventually to the all-American second team in 2007.
A transfer from Weatherford College, Herriage led the entire Southland Conference in both ERA (2.89) and opponent's batting average (.236), striking out 73 hitters in 93.1 innings over 15 starts. He finished the year with an 8-4 record on the year as SFA's Friday night starter. His eight wins were the second-most by an SFA pitcher in the program's history.
He was named to the all-Southland Conference second team at the end of the season, giving SFA an all-conference pitcher in three of the last four seasons.
